How & Why it Works

Using the Contech Fruit Fly Trap is easy. Simply place a dampened non-toxic lure and sticky pad inside the reusable plastic trap, and position it anywhere fruit flies are a problem. The trap?s patented lure entices fruit flies into the trap where they get caught on the disposable sticky pad. An attractive translucent cover conceals dead flies from view. When the pad is full, simply throw it away and replace it with a new one.

The Fruit Fly Trap uses a highly effective, yet safe and non-toxic attractant developed by Pherotech International - an industry leader in the development and commercialization of non-toxic insect trapping technology.

The Fruit Fly Trap includes an attractive and reusable plastic trap, and two lures and two sticky pads. The lure will attract fruit flies for about five days. The sticky pad will trap flies until it is full of flies, at which point it can be replaced. Lure and sticky pad refills are available.

To set up the Fruit Fly Trap:

1. Open lid and remove loose contents.
2. Fold sticky card along score and then remove backing.
3. Insert sticky card into jar with glue side facing the center of the jar.
4. Remove lure from package. Gently break any lumps apart, taking care not to tear the tea bag.
5. Dip lure into water until just damp (5-10 seconds).
6. Place lure on the bottom of trap.
7. Replace lid and place trap in an area where fruit flies are present. Safe for use in kitchens or other food storage areas.
8. Replace lure as needed.
9. Check lure every few days to ensure it remains damp. Moisture is essential in maintaining effectiveness.
